The first group of UNRWA health workers received the vaccine at Saida Governmental Hospital.

Several medical staff working in the health department of the “UNRWA” agency received the vaccine against the Coronavirus at Saida Governmental Hospital, in the presence of the Director-General of the Agency of UNRWA in Lebanon Claudio Cordone, Secretary of the Fatah movement and the “Palestine Liberation Organization” factions in Lebanon, Fathi Abu Al-Aradat, Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Director of the Governmental Hospital Dr. Ahmed Al-Samadi, Secretary of the Palestinian Coalition factions, and the official of the “Fatah Al-Intifada” movement, Wafiq Ramid, Director of the “UNRWA” office in Saida, Dr. Ibrahim Al-Khatib, Head of the UNRWA Health Department in Lebanon, Dr. Abdul Hakim Shana’a, head of the health department in the Saida region, d. Wael Mayari.

On the occasion, Cordone said, “UNRWA is working closely with the Lebanese authorities to ensure that the national program for vaccination is fully implemented, ensuring that all residents of Lebanon receive free vaccinations by medical priorities, including Palestinian refugees in Lebanon.”

For his part, Abu Al-Aradat thanked the management of Saida Governmental Hospital for this step, and the Lebanese Ministry of Health, in cooperation with UNRWA, included Palestinian refugees in the national campaign to combat the Corona epidemic.

Dr. Shana’a and Miyari were among the employees of the UNRWA Health Department who received the vaccine against the Coronavirus today.

Shana’a said: “Today, I received the vaccine against the Coronavirus, and I encourage all my colleagues and colleagues in UNRWA, and the entire Palestinian refugee community to receive the vaccine.”

It is noteworthy that in the coming days and weeks, Palestinians who registered on the platform will receive a message explaining how and where they can receive the vaccine, and UNRWA urges all Palestinian refugees in Lebanon to continue to adhere to all preventive measures to limit the spread of this pandemic in their communities.
