Sweden's Ambassador delivers donations to affected hospitals: contribute to rebuilding healthcare infrastructure and saving lives

The Ambassador of Sweden, Dr. Anne Desmore, held a reception yesterday evening in her house on the occasion of the handover of the medical equipment donated by the Swedish company Getinge to the Beirut hospitals affected by the port explosion, in the presence of the Minister of Health in the caretaker government, Dr. Hamad Hassan, Governor of Beirut Judge Marwan Abboud, Director The ceremony at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Abeer Ali, President of Saint Joseph University, Professor Father Selim Daccache, President of the Company in the Middle East and Africa Salah Malik, directors and representatives of the hospitals benefiting from the Swedish company’s donations.

Desmore, Ambassador Desmore welcomed the attendees and said, “I am very pleased to see this partnership between Getinge from Sweden and some of the major hospitals in Beirut, and I hope this in-kind donation will contribute to rebuilding healthcare infrastructure and saving lives during a very difficult time.”

She noted, “This donation is important because it comes at a time when there is a local shortage of this essential health equipment, and at a time when health care workers are struggling to support the most vulnerable citizens. This equipment will provide breathing space, a necessary weapon for patients suffering from device deficiencies. respiratory system”.

Ghazal, Getinge’s commercial director in the Middle East, Fadi Ghazal, explained that “in July, the company provided 7 servo ventilators and 8 flow-through anesthesia machines to Beirut hospitals affected by the port explosion that occurred on August 4, 2020.
