New National Record Highlights Lebanese Athletics Federation Championships at Sports City

A packed programme at Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium delivers depth, medals, and a standout new record performance.

Four Days of Competition in Beirut

The Lebanese Athletics Federation staged its national individual championships for men and women at the main track of Camille Chamoun Sports City Stadium, bringing together 225 athletes from 16 clubs. Over four days, sprinters, jumpers, throwers, and distance runners fought for national titles under the eye of federation officials and invited guests from the sports authorities.

Sama Mustafa Rewrites the Steeplechase Mark

The highlight of the meet came in the women’s under-20 3000-metre steeplechase, where Sama Mustafa of Al-Jamhour Club set a new national record. She improved her own previous mark, lowering the time to 12:07.62 and demonstrating notable progress in a demanding endurance and technical event that is still developing in Lebanon.

Momentum for Lebanese Track and Field

The championships confirmed that, despite limited resources, Lebanese athletics continues to nurture promising talents across events and age categories. With clubs and coaches investing in training and competition schedules, performances like Mustafa’s record run provide proof that systematic work can pay off and encourage more young athletes to commit to the sport.
