Lebanon Tops Arab Championship for Scientific Talents in Baghdad

Beyond the playing field, Lebanese youth secure a regional title in a competition that blends knowledge, creativity, and teamwork.

Regional Triumph in Iraq

Lebanon finished first in the Arab Championship for Scientific Talents, organised by Iraq’s Ministry of Youth and Sports in Baghdad. In a final that matched the host nation against visiting teams, the Lebanese delegation prevailed over Iraq to claim the overall title and cap a series of impressive performances.

Winning Run Through the Bracket

The Lebanese team, composed of young women and men, advanced through the competition by defeating Morocco, Syria, and Libya before facing Iraq in the decisive round. Each stage required participants to present solutions, ideas, and scientific projects, testing not only knowledge but communication skills and the ability to work as a coordinated group under time pressure.

Linking Talent, Education, and National Image

The victory in Baghdad offers a different kind of sporting headline for Lebanon—one that highlights academic achievement and innovation. It underscores the potential of Lebanese youth when given platforms to compete and collaborate at regional level, and adds weight to calls for more structured support for science, technology, and research-oriented programmes alongside traditional sports.
