The Embassy of India in Lebanon on Tuesday made a donation of office equipment to the Lebanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs in light of the devastation caused by August 4 blasts in Beirut.
The donation was handed over by Ambassador Dr Suhel Ajaz Khan to the Lebanese MOFA Today. The equipment were received by Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Charbel Wehbi. H.E. Minister Wehbi expressed gratitude to the Govt of India for this gesture. Ambassador Dr Khan said that such a gesture will further strengthen bonds of friendship and trust between India and Lebanon. Ambassador further said that they will keep on exploring options to help Lebanon during these challenging times.
This is the third tranche of assistance provided by the Government of India to Lebanon. Earlier in August, Govt of India flew in 58 MT of relief supplies consisting of food and relief materials in the immediate aftermath of August 4 blasts. Later, Govt of India also donated 70 boxes of PPEs to the Lebanese Ministry of Health to fight the menace of Covid-19 pandemic.
Ambassador Dr Khan and H.E. the Minister also discussed bilateral issues and various issue of mutual interest during their meeting today.—Embassy of India in Lebanon
