Lebanon Cruise Past Palestine in Beirut International Cup Warm-Up Tournament

A convincing victory gives the Cedars momentum before the first Asian qualifying window.

Second Straight Win for the Hosts

Lebanon’s men’s national team registered an 84–55 victory over Palestine in the Beirut International Cup, a quadrangular friendly tournament hosted at Ghazir Sports Club Hall. The win marked Lebanon’s second successive success in the event after an opening-game triumph over Iraq, confirming the hosts as early favourites for the unofficial title.

Regional Rivals Share the Floor

The competition brings together four regional sides—Lebanon, Palestine, Iraq, and Syria—for a short series of warm-up games. Palestine had beaten Syria earlier in the tournament and will face Iraq next, while Lebanon are scheduled to conclude their participation with a meeting against Syria.

Preparation for Continental Qualifiers

The Beirut International Cup is designed primarily as preparation for the first window of qualifiers for the continental championship finals set to be held in Saudi Arabia next year. Each participating team will play two official qualifiers in that window, making the tournament an important opportunity to test rotations, build chemistry, and simulate game conditions before competitive fixtures begin.

For Lebanon, the comfortable win over Palestine is encouraging—but the real test will come when points and qualification places are on the line.
