A clay-court triumph pushes Lebanon further into the Davis Cup World Group II picture.
Big Result on Clay
Lebanon’s Davis Cup team defeated South Africa 3-1 in their World Group II tie, played on clay courts at Palm Hills Sports Club in Cairo. On neutral ground, the Lebanese side handled conditions and pressure better to turn a difficult tie into a statement victory.
Using the Surface as an Advantage
The slower clay rewarded Lebanon’s tactical patience, fitness, and heavy topspin. Long rallies and smart shot placement forced South African players into errors at key moments and allowed Lebanon to build control over the tie.
Another Step in a Growing Tennis Story
The win secures Lebanon’s place in the next stage of Davis Cup competition and, combined with individual successes like Hady Habib’s Grand Slam run, shows that Lebanese tennis is on an upward trajectory in both team and individual events.
